Trail Transmission in Mesa, AZ did the rebuild and the original 727 oil pan was replaced with a finned, aluminum, CSC pan. Trail Transmission was recommended as one of the best in the state and I am still happy that I went there. The new CSC pan holds an extra quart or two of fluid and has a drain plug. This was one of the last items I had bought for the Scout before parking it. I am very happy to finally be using it. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was so excited to get in back in the truck, that I forgot to take a picture of the rebuilt transmission.
While the transmission was off being repaired, the transfer case got a good cleaning. It still works great and I have other things that need repair/rebuilding first. So it did not get a rebuild. But it did get a couple coats of black engine paint and some fresh Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil.
