Cam Gear Tech

Things to check before installing the adjustable cam gear:

  • Always compare the new gear to your old one.
  • Make sure the Top-Dead-Center (TDC) mark is in the same place, use the cam alignment hole as a reference point.
  • If the marks are off, you will need to make a new mark and possibly reposition the adjustment plate. This guarantees that the cam timing will not be off.
  • If the gears look incredibly different or there are any other problems, please contact us.

Check to make sure the TDC marks and the dowel pin holes are oriented the same. If not, then you may need to unbolt the adjustment plate and reposition it. There are also small dots on the outer edge that can help with comparing the gears.

Installation Tip

Follow timing belt installation steps to complete.
