The
latest performance development is the Quad Throttle
body which has basically been taken straight from the
Super Touring Race car to your road car. If your looking
for serious power gains the quad would have to be one
of the best modifications you could ever make. With
a performance gain of around 40 - 50%, which is
extremely good bolt on power gain for a naturally aspirated
engine, you are way in front when you compare the price
to a Turbocharger and the additional engine modifications
that need go with it. The Quad system requires an aftermarket
engine control computer so that the engine can be tuned
for maximun performance. The other advantage of having
a programmable computer is that the car can be tuned
to suit any modification that you make at any time.
The assembly is handmade from billet aluminum and incorporates
a throttle position sensor for accurate fuel and ignition
control.
The
induction noise is unbelievable - no kidding it sounds
just like a Super touring car. (Utilizing individual
air filters instead of carbon fibre air box and single
ram pod filter assembly)

Together
with a modified camshaft, exhaust, extractors and ported
heads you could expect up to a 100% increase in horsepower.
As an example, the development car which is a 1.5L SOHC
Excel (12 valve) should produce around 130 kw (174 hp)
to 135 kw (181 hp) which is up from standard 65 kw (87
hp). Initial dyno runs have resulted in 112 kw (150
hp) with continued fine tuning to follow.
This
kit can come supplied with either a carbon fibre air
box or K&N Large filter, throttle bodies and intake
manifold. We can also supply a programmable computer
additionally if you don't already have one. It is not
really possible to run the vehicle without some form
of computer modifications.
There is the choice of two computer systems being either
the cheaper Microtech system or the more advanced and
expensive Haltech Computer system. Kits are now available
for 90% of all Mitsubishi's and with our new manafacturer
prices have dropped significantly so that most people
can afford to purchase one of these units. These can
be converted to suit a turbo / supercharger application
additionally although this would require some extensive
modifications to do so. Pricing for this application
is approximate only.
Note: Prices do not include programmable computer. This
is the manifold assembly only.
